CONSIDERATIONS

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsetter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy's spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

It never seems that they were worth the fight
I’m sick of trying to pretend, that my heart and mind they seem to be allright,
I don’t want to be here anymore - When I just can’t expect you
Our Vision Maker Series was a big success. We were so blessed to have David Doyle, Peter Barnett and John Kokum headline our “Producers Panel” and inspire us in our craft and careers. About 35 attendees got sit in our “living room” and hear these gentlemen be honest and optimistic about the industry and its future.

We enjoyed meeting new producers, composers and actors and honoring new adopted children of Daddy Jack. The camaraderie is always exciting. If you’re missing the mixers,
email us so we can get you on the list!

You need your Daddy!
From Pasadena portfolio managers to network executives to rock gods, a good time was had by all.

Drums however, took center stage featuring the new amazing drums manufactured at Orybon. Wow they’re beautiful and sound fantastic. They got thumbs up from Tommy Stewart (GodSmack) and Greg Eklund (Everclear). Our resident professor Eugene “the Senator” Wright enjoyed chanting over some African grooves. Lots of Fun!

Again, we’ve got the greatest friends in the world and its always a pleasure to have everyone over to Daddy Jack’s house.

Brett Perry

How ‘bout this? Guitar, double bass, brushes, accordion, steel and violin. Now that’s a band and a fun one at that!

Laurie wrote some great songs, delivers great emotional vocals and the players talents are beautifully displayed here. We captured them with a “40s mindset. Noise, buzz, 13th chords, Neves, ribbons, 3 mics on the drums...
Yeah baby - Auto tune be damned!

Check it out, I mean... buy it here!
www.lauriemelan.com

Brett Perry
His environment became inspirational and
his works reflect much of his time there. The Florida Suite
is an amazing piece of music that is little known, yet is as
poignant as any modern orchestral work. Melodic hooks
that stick in your head and make you glad to be alive.

Delius’ body of work is monstrous. More music than I will write in my lifetime. I only mention one because I won’t know where to stop. If you haven’t heard of Delius, get your hands on some and I believe when you listen, you’ll enjoy your life.

- Brett Perry

"Angela's Ashes" by John Williams is as good as it gets. In a modern compositional society of many trendy "score" concepts, Mr. Williams takes an elongated theme developed and honed around the world on a perfect journey. The brilliant theme is used relentlessly throughout the score in a way which most themes would wind up feeling repetitive, and short on content.

Melody... did I mention melody. Why repeat you say? In a world where melody is falling backseat to production asthetics and "groove" based motifs, he serves up the melodic mother-lode, spoon fed with delicate and brilliant orchestrations. Even for those who believe his other works are commercial and "un-symphonic" - this is the composition to help you understand his true abilities and makes me honored to work in an arena with this as my bar.

May I recommend this piece of music without describing it to death. May it be your peace on a long commute home. May it be your thesis for your doctorate in music, and everything in between.

There have been few pieces of music in the last few years to have such a wide range of impact in my life. Therefore please accept my blogging as not changing the course of our world, yet offering you to hear a piece of brilliance in the midst of the course of our world.

"Angela's Ashes" by John Williams is as good as it gets.

Sincerely
Brett Perry
